Hello,

I just installed a KVM slave node and I can't seem to get a Centos guest VM up. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the VM to start and the qemu-kvm process just hangs in the meantime. I am putting the ps -ealfHwww output below:

Code
6 S qemu      3496    1 46  80  0 - 628905 poll_s 18:48 ?      00:00:44  /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm -name v1001 -S -machine pc-i440fx-rhel7.0.0,accel=kvm,usb=off,dump-guest-core=off -cpu host -m 2048 -realtime mlock=off -smp 2,sockets=2,cores=1,threads=1 -uuid 6afe07ca-e7f6-48e5-a62b-2c4a56a2f83c -no-user-config -nodefaults -chardev socket,id=charmonitor,path=/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/domain-2-v1001/monitor.sock,server,nowait -mon chardev=charmonitor,id=monitor,mode=control -rtc base=utc,driftfix=slew -global kvm-pit.lost_tick_policy=delay -no-hpet -no-shutdown -boot menu=on,strict=on -device piix3-usb-uhci,id=usb,bus=pci.0,addr=0x1.0x2 -drive file=/dev/vg_home/vsv1001-0u17-60fi7rorywyfgfsp,format=raw,if=none,id=drive-ide0-0-0,cache=directsync,aio=native -device ide-hd,bus=ide.0,unit=0,drive=drive-ide0-0-0,id=ide0-0-0,bootindex=1 -netdev tap,fd=27,id=hostnet0 -device rtl8139,netdev=hostnet0,id=net0,mac=00:16:3e:15:cf:68,bus=pci.0,addr=0x3 -device usb-tablet,id=input0,bus=usb.0,port=1 -vnc 185.84.67.242:1,password -k en-us -vga cirrus -device AC97,id=sound0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x4 -device virtio-balloon-pci,id=balloon0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x5 -msg timestamp=on

The host OS is running kernel 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7.x86_64 and the bridge is setup successfully:

Code
[root@node1 ~]# brctl show
bridge name    bridge id        STP enabled    interfaces
viifbr0        8000.0cc47acb78b8    no        eno1
                            viifv1001

I can see from the output of "virsh list" that the domain is running:

Code
[root@node1 domain-1-v1001]# virsh list
Id    Name                          State
----------------------------------------------------
2    v1001                          running

The same happens even if I rebuild, restart, etc. the VM. It takes 10-15 minutes on all of the actions.

Can anybody give me some pointers to solve this problem?

Thank you.

Hi,

Are you using KVM Virtualizor on a dedicated server ?
Was any ticket open for this issue ?
